FLUSHING, Mich. - Ford is loving life on top as it celebrates a variety of historical moments and milestones - we celebrated Henry Ford's 150th birthday, the Ford Mustang is about to have its 50th anniversary, and numerous production milestones have been reached. Adding to the list of Ford celebrations, on October 7 Ford's moving assembly line will turn 100 years old!
Although the assembly line wasn't invented by Henry Ford, he perfected the car-building process on October 7, 1913 as he implemented the process into his factory. The first car to roll off the line 100 years ago next week was the Model T, in Highland Park, Mich. Before the assembly line, cars were put together one at a time, moving from station to station until the vehicle was complete.
When the assembly line was first implemented, it was essentially just a winch and a rope that stretched across 150 feet. More than 140 assembly workers were stationed along the length of the rope and each installed different components as it was dragged across the floor. Although this seems primitive, it cut the production time by three quarters allowing each vehicle to be assembled in just three hours.
As the assembly line evolved, the time that it took to assemble a vehicle quickly decreased. Only a year after the introduction of the assembly line, workers were able to assemble a vehicle in only 90 minutes. Eventually, at the peak of production, a Ford Model T was being built every 24 seconds!
Ford's moving assembly line turns 100 years old which means that the way each one of our vehicle's is produced has 100 years work of knowledge and experience behind it. If you'd like to take a look for yourself and see how far Ford vehicles have come (in production, styling, and more) since 1913, come see us today at Delehanty Ford. We're located at 1510 E. 2015 Ford F-Series Super Duty Updates
FLUSHING, Mich.- Delivering on their promise, Ford Motor Company has announced the much anticipated updates for the 2015 Ford F-Series Super Duty at the Texas State Fair! To stay ahead of the competition, the 2015 Ford F-Series Super Duty updates include a luxurious restyling of the 2015 F-Series Super Duty King Ranch, upgraded towing capability for the F-450, and most importantly improvements to Ford's 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8 turbo diesel engine to boost performance, capability, and durability!
Good news for buyers, the second generation of automaker's Power Stroke V8 will be more powerful and more reliable. Super Duty engineers were able to drastically improve the big turbodiesel V8 with one simple change: a bigger turbocharger that is 8.5 millimeters larger in diameter than before! The larger turbocharger actually allows the Power Stroke to use less boost than before while making more useable power which eliminates the wastegate and associated controls. Overall, the 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8 turbo diesel engine becomes simpler and more reliable, though official power output has not yet been released but Ford has stated that it will make more than the current model's 400hp and 800 lb-ft. of torque.
Besides power, the updated Power Stroke V8 will provide some other benefits as well. Thanks to the turbocharger, high-altitude performance and engine exhaust braking are both improved. And to allow the engine to handle the extra power, Ford added a new torque converter for the six-speed automatic, new high pressure fuel pump and fuel injectors, and reduced friction on the engine's internals.
The 2015 Ford F-Series Super Duty Updates include the F-450 as well. With increased towing and hauling capability, the 2015 Ford F-450 also received a strengthened frame, heavy duty rear leaf springs, stronger shocks and stabilizer bars, and stronger brakes. The anti-lock braking system and 6.7-liter Power Stoke engine are both also re-calibrated. And with all that towing power, "commercial-grade" 19.5-inch wheels and tires are a necessity.
But for those interested in F-Series luxury, the updated 2015 Super Duty King Ranch boasts new upscale features. An even more luxurious interior features higher-quality Mesa leather on the seats, arm rests, steering wheel, and center console lid. The leather seats and center console lid are also branded with a more prominent "Running W" logo. But don't forget about the exterior which features "Running W" branded wheelcaps. The range-topping King Ranch exterior styling updates also include bumpers, lower body and wheel lip moldings now painted in metallic-brown "Caribou" paint.
Though the 2015 Ford F-Series Super Duty likely won't go on sale until next year, you can Discover the current Ford F-Series at Delehanty Ford. We're located at 1510 E. 2014 Ford Focus ST Spy Shots
FLUSHING, Mich.- We recently reported on the new Ford Fiesta ST, and soon another updated model will be joining the Ford Special Vehicles Team! A few 2014 Ford Focus ST spy shots have hit the web after the prototype was spotted performance testing at the Nurgurgring in Germany! According to the photos, it appears the 2014 model will receive a slight facelift.
The latest 2014 Ford Focus ST spy shots lead us to believe the vehicle will receive a slight makeover that will bring it up to date with the new Ford Fiesta and Fusion. The most notable changes appear to be an updated grille, resembling that of the Fusion and Fiesta, as well as tweaked headlights. However, both the front and rear ends are heavily camouflaged which may conceal additional changes. Though we can expect the classic ST styling to remain the same with centrally mounted twin exhausts, bigger side-skirts, larger wheels and lower ride hight.

Easy Fall Decor Ideas
FLUSHING, Mich.- The first official day of Fall is behind us and these cooler temperatures are quickly reminding us that the seasons have changed! But there's no reason to dread the colder weather already. Instead, get in the spirit with these Easy Fall Decor Ideas that will have you feeling festive in no time!
One of the easiest ways to add a bit of Fall flair to your home's current decor, is to use what you already have. Chances are you probably have some glass jars or containers around the house, so make use of them this season. To create a festive centerpiece or mantle display all you have to do is add some 'Fall Fillers' to the jars along with candles if you wish! Think acorns, leaves, mini pumpkins, apples, corn, greens, etc.

To create a festive centerpiece or mantle display all you have to do is add some 'Fall Fillers' to the jars along with candles if you wish! Think acorns, leaves, mini pumpkins, apples, corn, greens, etc.
The great thing about this Easy Fall Decor Idea is that you can use items you already have, and it can be done on either a large or small scale as you can see in the example photos above and below!
Nothing says Fall more than a pumpkin, but even though it may be a bit to early to carve your pumpkin if you want to to last until Halloween, that doesn't mean that you have to leave it out of your Fall decorations. If you want to spice up your pumpkin rather than leaving it au naturel, try painting a fun design or saying on a group of pumpkins and then display them on the porch, mantel, or even as a centerpiece!
Another unique way to incorporate pumpkins into your Fall decor is to use one as a vase! All you have to do is hollow out the pumpkin, place a vase with water inside of it and then arrange your flowers as desired!
Don't forget to share the festive spirit with your neighbors with a seasonal wreath! You can find these pre-made at the store, or if you're feeling creative you can make your own with a few simple supplies that you can pick up at your local craft store. You'll want some type of base, like the branches pictured below, and then you can personalize the rest with leaves, flowers, burlap, ribbons, monogram letters, you name it!
Along with Fall comes the threat of more dangerous driving conditions like wet and possibly icy roads. Stay safe this season by making sure your vehicle is ready for the change in weather. Discover the Delehanty Ford Service Center where customer service is our #1 priority!

Ford Launches Fuel Saving Police Interceptor
Not only is Ford helping police departments save on fuel costs with the new non-pursuit special service police sedan, but the sedan will also be the first law enforcement vehicle to achieve 30 mpg of better! Ford's new fuel saving Police Interceptor will be powered by a 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine that produces 240 horsepower and is expected to get 32 mpg on the highway and 22 mpg in the city. Compared to the standard Crown Victoria which only achieves 14 mpg in the city and 21 mpg on the highway, upgrading to the new special service sedan could save the department $5,000 over the course of 3 years with gasoline priced at $3.65 and the officer driving 30,000 miles per year!
What about the power that officers need while out on the job? Officers that need a pursuit-rated vehicle will rely on the other more powerful Fords. But those who do not, like detectives, administrators, campus police, and some law enforcement agencies, will be able to replace their older V8-equipped vehicles with a more efficient model.
Ford Motor Company's Police Interceptor sedans are now available with four powertrain options to meet each officer's specific needs: the 3.5-liter V-6 with front-wheel drive, 3.7-liter V-6 with all-wheel drive, the new 2.0-liter V-6 and the 3.5-liter V-6 EcoBoost engine with all-wheel drive.

2015 Ford Shelby Mustang GT350 Spied In Detroit
FLUSHING, Mich.- As rumors swirl about exactly what will replace the current Mustang Shelby GT500 muscle car, Michigan residents can now give their first hand opinion since the suspected 2015 Ford Shelby Mustang GT350 was spied in Detroit! It’s been suggested that a Cobra-badged model or GT350 will be the vehicle to replace the GT500, and the recent Mustang sighting only fuels that rumor further!
As usual with Mustang sightings, not must is know about the vehicle quite yet as Ford Motor Company tries to keep the details under wraps until the big reveal. But the camouflage of the spied 2015 Ford Shelby Mustang GT350 in Detroit does reveal some possible details. The mesh inserts on the Mustang’s wrap leads us to believe that the hood scoop and front fender vents aren’t just for looks, this pony car may need them to function! Plus, the large cross-drilled rotors behind the larger wheels and the sports quad exhaust tips remain unique to the GT350.
Additionally, the engine choice remains unknown but rumor has it that the spied 2015 Ford Mustang will come equipped with a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine.
We still have a few months to go before the 2015 Ford Mustang makes its much anticipated debut, but you can still get your hands on the impressive current and past models! 2 Millionth Production Ford EcoBoost Engine
FLUSHING, Mich.- As consumer demand for outstanding
performance and fuel economy in an engine increases worldwide, Ford Motor
Company is meeting those needs and hitting milestones! Today Ford celebrates the production of the two
millionth EcoBoost Engine since the engine line’s launch in 2009!
In conjunction with Ford hitting this manufacturing
milestone, the automaker is also celebrating the increased demand for
EcoBoost-powered vehicles in major markets, which is driving production. Just
one year ago in 2012, factory output of EcoBoost engines averaged 65,000 per
month. But now, factory output averages more than 100,000 engines per month!
It’s no surprise that drivers are attracted to the EcoBoost
engine line. Combining a smaller overall size with turbocharging, direct
injection, and variable valve timing, the engine provides drivers with
outstanding performance and up to 20% better fuel economy than
larger-displacement gasoline engines.
The 2 millionth
production Ford EcoBoost engine was a 2.0-liter unit under the hood of a
new Ford Escape. But you can enjoy EcoBoost performance and fuel efficiency, in
one of the engine’s five models (1.0-liter three-cylinder, 1.5-liter,
1.6-liter, 2.0-liter four cylinder, and 3.5-liter V6 engine) offered on
approximately 80% of the automaker’s global nameplates!
If you want to learn more about how you can start saving on
your fuel bills, then come Discover the Ford EcoBoost engine at Delehanty Ford. We're located at 1510 E. Pierson Road, Flushing, MI 48433. Ford Mondeo Vignale Debut
FLUSHING, Mich.- When the redesigned Ford Fusion made its
debut last year, both Ford fans and everyday drivers were impressed with its
updates. However, the spotlight has recently been stolen by the sleek sedan’s
new European counterpart, the Ford Mondao
Vignale wagon which made its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show! And the
saddest part is that the Vignale may never make it to the United States.
While the new Ford Vignale is based on the Mondeo platform,
which is the international version of the Fusion, the Vignale is much more
upscale and targeted at luxury car buyers. Appealing to high-end tastes, the
exterior of the Ford Vignale features special 20-inch chrome wheels, chrome
trim, mesh grille, and LED headlights. The interior speaks to luxury drivers as
well with soft touch quilted leather, leather stitching, and carpet floor mats.
But the upscale experience doesn’t end there. The Ford
Mondeo Vignale will also come with the option of post-sale services like reward
points and chauffeuring.
As Part of Ford Motor Company’s plans for a new luxury
segment that is aimed at markets where its Lincoln brand isn’t available, the
fancy new Vignale will most likely not be available in the United States. But
you can Discover the impressive quality and appearance of the Ford Fusion at Delehanty Ford. We're located at 1510 E. Pierson Road, Flushing, MI 48433. Safe Driving Tips For Young Drivers
Our first tip is to inform your young driver how dangerous distracted driving can be. This has become increasingly important in recent years, but according to data gathered by Ford Motor Company, more than half of teens still say that they become easily distracted by others in the car. Though less experienced, it's believed that young drivers to look away from the road for longer and more frequently than more experienced drivers. Whether it's other passengers, the radio, phone calls, or texting, we know that distracted driving can be extremely dangerous.
While passengers in the car can be distracting, it's also important to inform your teen that the number of passengers they are allowed to have in the car is limited by law. So while driving around with friends may be fun, young drivers must remember that how many friends they can drive with is limited.
It's one thing to tell your young driver about distracted driving or laws that affect them, but one of the best ways to encourage safe driving habits and prevent distracted driving is to lead by example! Especially with the distraction that technology poses, you can set a good example by putting your phone away, definitely not texting while driving, and utilizing hands-free technology like Ford SYNC when you can.
Lastly, wearing your seat belt is one of the easiest ways to reinforce vehicle safety among your whole family, young or old! It's good to hear that according to Ford data 78% of teens wear their seat belt while driving, however that also means that there are 22% of young drivers that don't. While wearing your safety belt is required by law, it's also important to educate your teen about how effective seat belts are. You can develop the habit at a young age by requiring your kids to buckle up the minute they get in the car.
As your teen hits the road this year, share these safe driving tips for young drivers with them to help encourage safe driving practices. Discover the safest vehicles for your young driver at Delehanty Ford. We're located at 1510 E. Pierson Road, Flushing, MI 48433. Ford F-150 SVT Raptor Production Increasing
While Ford Motor Company's production lines pump out hundreds of thousands of regular F-150 trucks each year, production of the SVT Raptor is much slower. When Ford began producing the Raptor in 2009, those same production lines were only creating two Raptor trucks per hour! Since then production has slightly increased to 3 trucks per hour, but with increasing demand, it's still not cutting it. The good news is that Ford just announced that they are working with suppliers to further increase Ford F-150 SVT Raptor production to 5 trucks each hour within the next 8-10 weeks!
With record high sales up 14% over the past 10 months, it's apparent that buyers can't get enough of the SVT Raptor, which can be priced as high as $60,000. It may come as a surprise to you, though, that the Raptor truck began as an experiment for Ford. But after selling 13,000 Raptors last year, and projections to sell even more than that this year, it looks like the experiment went right!
Ford has announced that they are working towards producing more SVT Raptor trucks, but that doesn't mean they will be sitting on dealer lots any longer. The Ford F-150 Raptor is one of Ford's fastest turning vehicles, spending just 15 days on the lot compared to the 60-day industry average! So if you're dreaming of a Ford SVT Raptor as your next vehicle, don't waste another minute!

Ford SYNC AppLink Update Includes TomTom and Hotels.com
FLUSHING, Mich.- You're probably familiar with Ford's in-car infotainment system, and the automaker has just announced a fun update to the SYNC system at the largest consumer electronics fair! Reinforcing the fact that driving is just not what it used to be, the latest Ford SYNC AppLink update incorporates TomTom and Hotels.com!
While the Ford SYNC system allows Ford drivers to keep their hands on the wheel by utilizing voice commands, the new AppLink update now enables users to voice-control specific apps like TomTom navigation and Hotels.com among others! The update is different than other in that it does not use Apple's Siri or Samsung's S Voice solution, instead Ford has developed their own voice-control system.
Unlike other systems, with the AppLink update there is no need to lean forward or tap on your phone's screen to utilize the TomTom navigation app or Hotels.com app through Ford SYNC. To navigate with the TomTom app, all you have to do is use your voice to command the app to direct you to an address that you have saved. And once you arrive, you can search for the nearest hotels relative to your position, check out the best options, and then confirm your booking over the phone. It's as simple as that!
Since Ford Motor Company has developed their own proprietary voice-control system, app developers have to specifically engineer their app to operate with SYNC, which is why there is currently only a limited number of compatible apps. We can only imagine that Ford will continue to develop the system which will lead to an increase in compatible apps.
Discover the new Ford SYNC AppLink update including TomTom and Hotels.com at Delehanty Ford. We're located at 1510 E. Pierson Road, Flushing, MI 48433. Evolution of the Ford Mustang Badge
FLUSHING, Mich.- The debut of the new 2015 Ford Mustang is so close, yet so far away. As we patiently (or impatiently) await its arrival, why not take a little stroll down Mustang Memory Lane and explore the evolution of the Ford Mustang badge. The pony logo has seen many different designs over the years, and will soon grace the 50th anniversary Mustang!
Even before the badge appeared on the first Mustang sports car it underwent many changes, and has continued to evolve over the nearly 50 years since! The evolution of the Ford Mustang badge began with a lengthy design process, as well as multiple name changes including Avanti, Allegro, Torino, and Cougar. First officially appearing on the 1962 Mustang I concept, the galloping horse emblem made its production debut in 1964. Since that historic date, the Pony badge has experienced many design changes and will soon make history with the debut of the 50th anniversary Ford Mustang!

2014 Ford Fiesta ST Coming To Dealerships Soon
FLUSHING, Mich.- Another one of Ford's Special Vehicle Team models will be making its debut in dealerships very soon! The popular Ford Fiesta ST, currently available only in Europe, is coming to the United Sates any day now!
The second generation 2014 Ford Fiesta ST is coming to dealerships soon, by summer's end actually! You may be familiar with the slightly larger Ford Focus ST, but the new Fiesta ST will actually cost $2,500 less with a starting price of $22,195. The first generation Ford Fiesta ST was available only in Europe, while the second generation model is not only coming to the U.S. but also to 39 other countries! So why is the demand for the 2014 Ford Fiesta ST so huge? Not to mention the vehicle still achieves 35 mpg on the highway and 26 mpg in the city!
The ST model also has an upgraded appearance factor that distinguishes the vehicle. For an extra $2,000, owners can enjoy a unique mesh grille, body kit with a spoiler, different wheels, stiffer suspension, and addition upgrades like Recaro seats.

Ford Hybrid Vehicle Sales Increasing
August also marked the 11th consecutive month that Ford achieved electrified vehicle sales records! With Ford's increasing hybrid vehicle sales, the automaker continues to become a major part of the hybrid market. Both the Fusion Energi and the C-MAX Energi experienced their best sales month thus far, selling 600 and 621 units respectively!
The good news is that dealers continue to find that people who are interested in the Ford C-MAX are those who would have never considered a Ford vehicle in the past. Thanks to the class-leading fuel economy and all-around outstanding packages, nearly two-thirds of the record sales came from people who traded in other car brands like the Toyota Prius and Honda CR-V.
The record sales don't lie. If you never considered the Ford Fusion Energi or C-MAX Energi in the past, you'll enjoy Ford's ability to offer hybrid drivers power and performance.
