Can you guess what portion of Ford F-150 customers who purchased a truck between the months of January and February chose the V6 engine? A whopping 57 percent! Ford has no doubt that this trend will continue for throughout the rest of the year leading to the release of the 2015 F-150. Since 2010, there has been a 600 percent increase in retail registrations of light duty pickups with V6 engines and the F-150 is responsible for 91 percent of that growth. The Ford F-150 V6 sales were also accountable for 78 percent of all light-duty truck V6 sales in 2013. 

Three different V6 engine options will be offered in the 2015 Ford F-150, which is set to go on sale later this year. The all-new F-150 will offer a new 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine, along with the 3.7-liter Ti-VCT V6 and 3.5-liter EcoBoost engines. Ford Motor Company expects the number of sales to hold, or go even higher throughout the rest of the year. The latest 2.7-liter EcoBoost will be produced at Ford's Lima, Ohio plant; the same location where the 3.7-liter Ti-VCT V6 and 3.5-liter EcoBoost engines are produced.

Ford Introduces All-New F-150 Snow Plow Prep Option

FLUSHING, Mich - Michiganders know first hand how unpredictable the winter season can be. Well, Ford Motor Company is coming to the rescue with the introduction of the All-New F-150 Snow Plow Prep Option across all cab configurations in the Regular, SuperCab and SuperCrew models.

Ford is going to be the only manufacturer offering a light-duty snow plow prep option for customers. The snow plow prep can be activated with the push of a button, which temporarily shuts off unnecessary features to provide the right about of power for the plow. In order for the plow to work at maximum efficiency, the truck must be equipped with a 5.0-liter V8 engine and four-wheel drive. The maximum weight of the light-duty plow will be around 450 pounds.

The latest, toughest F-150 ever has more abilities than anyone would have ever thought possible. With the truck being 700 pounds lighter, it has the perfect capability and handling for this plowing feature. The overall goal of the All-New F-150 is for it become the ultimate resource for customers to use to get any job done. It is safe to say that this snow plow prep kit is the perfect addition to the F-150 feature lineup. 

After ordering the snow plow prep option, Ford owners will need to take their trucks to a Ford Qualified Vehicle Modifier to purchase and install the plow hardware. Pricing for the snow plow prep, excluding the plow itself, will be announced later this year. We will start to see the all-new 2015 F-150 in dealerships at the end of 2014.

“You Test” Campaign Gives Truck Drivers Opportunity to Test 2015 F-150

FLUSHING, Mich—Are you "Ford Tough" enough? Ford's “You Test” Campaign gives truck drivers the opportunity to test the 2015 F-150 before anyone else! In order to qualify, contestants must prove that they are Built Ford Tough with an online submission.

Those who are willing to accept the challenge can enter at BuiltToughTest.com by describing their tactics of how they would test the all-new F-150 to test its true capabilities. Whether it's through a rocky dirt trail or off-roading in the Outback, Ford wants to hear what your strategy is! Chosen contestants will be filmed during the testing adventures they embark on with the all-new F-150. All of these videos will be posted to YouTube.com/FordTrucks.

Interested contestants must submit their entires by May 31, 2014 and the winners will be announced before September 1, 2014. Up to five lucky individuals will get the chance to spend up to a week putting the all-new F-150 to their toughest test.
