Ford Sells 500,000th F-150 with EcoBoost Engine

Ford Sells 500,000th F-150 With EcoBoost Engine
FLUSHING, Mich - Another milestone is met for America's 37-year truck leader as Ford Sells the 500,000th F-150 with the EcoBoost Engine. The 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost® engine debuted just three years ago and since has grow more and more popular among F-150 customers. As fuel-efficiency has become a vehicle necessity, Ford took it upon themselves to create a vehicle that is fuel efficient, while still highly capable and helps customers in getting the job done - a "total package" so to speak. Customer demand for the F-150 with the EcoBoost engine has skyrocketed and we can see why! Over the last 38 months, F-150 EcoBoost owners together have saved roughly 56.8 million gallons of gas on an annual basis. Those savings are equivalent to 70,000 homes going without electricity for a year or 6,685 tanker trucks' worth of gasoline! That is incredible, just incredible!

As we said, the Ford F-150 is without a doubt the total package for truck customers looking to save fuel, without feeling they need to compromise their truck's power and capability. The numbers tend to agree; over the last three years, retail registrations of light-duty pickups with V6 engines grew more than 600 percent. F-150s are accountable for a hefty 91 percent of this growth! Can you imagine the increase of that percentage once the 2015 Ford F-150 with the 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine and standard Auto Stat-Stop hits the showrooms? Is it safe to say that as Ford continues to take the F-150 to the next level, we are sure that the sale of the 500,000th F-150 with the EcoBoost Engine won't be the last!

Ford F-150 SVT Raptor Production Increasing

Ford F-150 SVT Raptor Production Increasing

FLUSHING, Mich.- Among truck drivers and fans, the Ford Raptor is definitely the toughest truck on the block. But with limited quantities, demand for the Raptor is heightened. However, recent good news from Ford reveals that to meet that demand, production of the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor will increase!

While Ford Motor Company's production lines pump out hundreds of thousands of regular F-150 trucks each year, production of the SVT Raptor is much slower. When Ford began producing the Raptor in 2009, those same production lines were only creating two Raptor trucks per hour! Since then production has slightly increased to 3 trucks per hour, but with increasing demand, it's still not cutting it. The good news is that Ford just announced that they are working with suppliers to further increase Ford F-150 SVT Raptor production to 5 trucks each hour within the next 8-10 weeks!

With record high sales up 14% over the past 10 months, it's apparent that buyers can't get enough of the SVT Raptor, which can be priced as high as $60,000. It may come as a surprise to you, though, that the Raptor truck began as an experiment for Ford. But after selling 13,000 Raptors last year, and projections to sell even more than that this year, it looks like the experiment went right!

Ford has announced that they are working towards producing more SVT Raptor trucks, but that doesn't mean they will be sitting on dealer lots any longer. The Ford F-150 Raptor is one of Ford's fastest turning vehicles, spending just 15 days on the lot compared to the 60-day industry average! So if you're dreaming of a Ford SVT Raptor as your next vehicle, don't waste another minute!

Discover the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor at Delehanty Ford. We're located at 1510 E. Pierson Road, Flushing, MI 48433. Feel free to give us a call at (810) 659-5688 with any questions you may have. Ford F-150 Environmentally Friendly And Tough

Ford F-150 Environmentally Friendly And Tough

FLUSHING, Mich.- Ford Motor Company continuously strives to incorporate recycled content into vehicles, and America's best selling truck is the latest example! The 2014 Ford F-150 is environmentally friendly and tough thanks to the new sustainable materials being used to produce the truck, like rice hulls.

While F-Series trucks already utilize recycled cotton, soybeans, recycled carpet, recycled tires, recycled plastic soda pop and water bottles, and recycled post-industrial plastics, the latest sustainable material being incorporated into production is rice hull-reinforced plastic. Rice hulls are a byproduct of rice grain and is being used to reinforce plastic in a 2014 F-140 electrical harness.

Although Ford is working to make their vehicles more green, the automaker does not sacrifice toughness or durability. After discovering a new sustainable material that can feasibly be used in one of the vehicles, the material must undergo testing to ensure it performs as well if not better than comparable materials. Ford example, the new rice hull-reinforced plastic, which was developed by Ford and RheTech, underwent testing for more than a year. Everything from smell, appearance, functionality, and flammability was examined before the material received approval.

It's obvious that for Ford fuel economy is a top priority, not only to help you save at the pump, but to also improve the automaker's environmental impact. But, it's also important to recognize the impact that can be made by incorporating sustainable materials into the production of vehicles. While multiple Ford vehicles utilize an array of eco-friendly materials, the F-Series alone uses about 10 million pounds of recycled cotton annually thanks to the trucks more than 650,000 sales per year! So you can see how the effect can really add up! For the 2014 model year, the Ford F-150 will be Environmentally Friendly And Tough as Ford plans to source a minimum of 45,000 pounds of rice hulls from Arkansas for the new reinforced plastic.

And, that's all aside from the eco-friendly technologies that Ford has developed for the new F-150. If you're ready for a new ride that is Built Ford Tough...and Green, discover the Ford F-150 at Delehanty Ford. We're located at 1510 E. 2014 Ford F-150 Will Offer Compressed Natural Gas Capability

2014 Ford F-150 Will Offer Compressed Natural Gas Capability

FLUSHING, Mich.- Ford Motor Company's half-ton pickup truck is undergoing some changes for 2014, and will make the automaker the only manufacturer with an available compressed natural gas-capable half-ton pickup! The 2014 Ford F-150 will offer compressed natural gas capability!

Available this fall, the 2014 Ford F-150 equipped with a 3.7-liter V6 engine will be available with a factory-installed, gaseous-fuel prep package that will allow the vehicle to operate on either natural gas or gasoline, using separate fuel systems. The CNG/LPG package will allow the F-150 to be capable of achieving more than 750 miles per tank of gas, depending on the fuel tank size.

Before a customer selects a Ford Qualified Vehicle Modifier, CNG/LPG engine prep from the factory will cost about $315. From there, upfits will cost approximately $7,500-$9,500 depending on the size of the fuel tank.

However, the benefits of CNG conversions far outweigh the costs of installation since users could start to see payback on their investment in as little at 24-36 months! CNG conversions allow for lower vehicle operating costs, and provide stability for fluctuating fuel prices since compressed natural gas only costs about $2.11 per gallon of gasoline equivalent on average! In some parts of the country, it's priced as low as $1, while the national average for unleaded regular fuel is $3.66 per gallon.

Over the next year, the 2014 Ford F-150 will offer compressed natural gas capability, joining seven other commercial vehicle with gaseous-prep options! For more information, discover Delehanty Ford. We're located at 1510 E. Pierson Road, Flushing, MI 48433. Feel free to give us a call at (810) 659-5688 with any questions you may have. Ford F-150 Hybrid Truck On Sale By 2020

FLUSHING, Mich.- A while back, the word on the street was that Ford Motor Company and Toyota were working together to develop a new rear-wheel-drive hybrid system. While the details of Ford's new hybrid system have not been released, a reduction in the weight of the automaker's full-size trucks will play a major role. It has been stated that the automaker is aiming to cut up to 700 pounds from the truck before the next generation debuts in 2014 at the Detroit Auto Show.
