FLUSHING, Mich - April Showers Bring May Flowers and Increased Ford Sales this year as the Ford Fusion, Escape and Lincoln MKZ saw huge improvements in their May sales! Over the course of the month Ford sales totaled 254,084 vehicles, up 3 percent, and retail sales reached 174,889 vehicles sold, a 6 percent increase. The Ford Fusion and Escape had the best May sales that Ford has seen in ten years! The Fusion sold 33,881 vehicles, an all-time monthly record, a big thanks to the West region of the United States and their increased interest in the Fusion. The Explorer has impacted the midsize utility segment and sold 20,346 vehicles -the best sales since 2005. Ford Escape sales were 31,896 vehicles sold, the Escape's personal best. Lincoln saw a nice 21 percent increase in total sales for the month of May. The MKZ did extremely well, breaking last year's record with 3,714 total vehicles sold. Even though the month was ending, Lincoln did not stop there. The all-new MKC sold 677 vehicles alone in the last weekend of May!

2015 Ford Mustang

FLUSHING, Mich. - The moment you all have been waiting for.. Ladies and gentleman, the 2015 Ford Mustang has been revealed!

Every aspect of the iconic car’s exterior has been taken and reinvented, resulting in a modern pony car that sits lower and wider than in past years. With smooth lines, a fierce face, and a variety of little details to love, the 2015 Ford Mustang has been reinvented into a modern day stallion. However, despite the complete overhaul, Ford designers have not forgotten the vehicle’s roots. The fastback look in the rear is reminiscent of the 1960’s Mustang, while the admiring and envious looks are the same as they have been for the past 50 years.

 A few quick exterior facts:

• Wheels are out 20mm on each side
• Vehicle is the lightest it's ever been, having just shed 200 lbs.
• Taillights are narrowed
• Headlights are more forward than they've been in recent years
• Vehicle will come in standard colors such as black, white, silver, etc.
• Also come in red, orange, blue, a dark green and a brand new bright yellow
• Cabin has been moved backwards substantially
• Hood is longer
• Rear end features three-dimensional characteristics

The pony car has also received an update to its engine options, as it will now offer the current 3.7-liter V6, a 5.0-liter V8 and a brand new 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder. The EcoBoost is a great addition to the pony car because it now gives drivers the comfort of knowing they are getting great gas mileage without sacrificing the power. While we aren't exactly sure of how many MPG the new Mustang will get, Ford has promised that it will get a project class-leading fuel efficiency.

We are still waiting on a few details about the 2015 Ford Mustang, but we assure you we will keep you posted as information becomes available. Ford Rolls Out Child Safety Program in Ford Plant Communities

FLUSHING, Mich. - While Ford is typically known for its advanced safety features available in a variety of vehicles in the lineup, Ford is now rolling out a Child Safety Program in Ford Plant Communities to protect children when they are not in the vehicle.

This Child Safety Program comes in the form of inkless fingerprint ID kits (this ID kit stays with the family) that help law enforcement quickly reference children's fingerprints and other identifying information, should they go missing. These kits will be distributed to all UAW-Ford employees which puts the estimated total distribution by Ford at 225,000 kits with 50,000 kits to be donated to Detroit Public Schools.

The best part about this large distribution is that the National Identification Program has promised to donate a kit for every kit purchased by Ford for plant employees. The matching kits will be distributed throughout the communities near Ford manufacturing plants by local schools, churches and law enforcement.

The National Identification Program was created by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) in 1997 with the goal that they would create a fingerprint record of 20 million children. Since 1997, they have blasted through this goal by collecting fingerprints of over 32 million children, both nationally and internationally. This impressive number has made the National Identification Program the largest child identification effort ever made.

Ford is rolling out a Child Safety Program in Ford plant communities across the country, simply because of the fact that safety is Ford's number one priority - in and out of the vehicle.
