FLUSHING, Mich. - We are proud to announce that we will be hosting a Black Friday Tire Event from now until December 1st at Delehanty Ford! This sale event is designed to help get your vehicle winter ready, while also saving you money this holiday season.

As part of our event, you'll get up to $140 in mail-in rebates when you buy 4 tires using your Ford Service Credit Card! The Old Newsboys of Flint is a non-profit organization that offers assistance programs to low income or special circumstance children - their Christmas Box Program being one of the better-known ways that they help. This program provides gifts and necessities to children who might otherwise go without. Each box contains a warm suit, socks and underclothes, a hat, a pair of gloves, dental hygiene products, and an age-appropriate new toy.  In 2012 alone, The Old Newsboys provided these fantastic Christmas boxes to more than 5,000 children within our community!

We are proud of the work that the Old Newsboys of Flint organization does for the children in and around our community. At Delehanty Ford, we have made a similar commitment to helping those in need. It is because of this commitment that we enjoy helping out other organizations with a similar goal. 4 Ways to Winterize Your Car

4 Ways to Winterize Your Car
FLUSHING, Mich. - Now that Fall is coming to a close, people across the state will be preparing themselves for the inevitable Michigan winter. While you're getting yourself, your house, and everything else ready for the cold, it's important that you don't forget to prepare your vehicle! To help you get ready for winter, we've come up with 4 ways to winterize your car:

1. Check your tires / consider getting winter tires. With winter comes icy and slippery conditions. If your tires aren't in good condition, you run the risk of losing control of your vehicle. We recommend checking the tread on your tire using a penny. Simply take the penny, turn it so that Lincoln's head is pointing downwards, and put it in between the tread on your tire. If the tread is at the top of Lincoln's head or below, you'll need to get new tires. If you don't feel comfortable using everyday tires, we also carry a great selection of winter tires that we would be more than happy to install on your vehicle.

2. Check your windshield wipers. While tires are important for staying in control of your vehicle, no tire will keep you safe if you can't see where you're going. If your wipers are leaving streaks on your window after you using them, or they appear to be cracked or peeling, you'll want to get them replaced. Windshield wipers are the one thing that will keep your windshield clear when it starts to rain/snow/etc. and allow you to clearly see what is happening on the road.

3. Prepare an emergency kit. You never know when a bad blizzard might leave you stranded on the side of the road. While we hope that this never happens to you, it's important to be prepared if it does. We recommend putting the following in your emergency kit:

  • Non-perishable food and water – Granola bars, water bottles, and hard candy have a long shelf life, making it perfect for your kit
  • A blanket and an extra pair of warm clothes
  • A flashlight
  • An ice scraper and a small shovel
  • An extra pair of warm boots and gloves
  • Jumper Cables
  • First aid and tool kits
  • Flares
  • Sand, salt or kitty litter to provide traction should you become stuck
4. Check your battery. Cold weather can be harsh on your vehicle's battery, especially because your engine requires more current from the battery to start in the winter. We recommend having one of our specialists check your battery to make sure that it is in good condition so that you aren't inconvenienced on a cold morning when your vehicle won't start.

While we hope that these 4 ways to winterize your car will help you prepare you vehicle for the cold, we are also available to help. If you need someone to look over your vehicle and assure you that it is prepared for less than perfect weather conditions, our ASE certified service technicians are on hand to help! We're located at 1510 E. Pierson Road, Flushing, MI 48433. Feel free to give us a call at (810) 659-5688 with any questions you may have. 2015 Ford Expedition Spy Shots

FLUSHING, Mich. - 2015 Ford Expedition spy shots have surfaced on the internet, as the camouflaged vehicle was seen driving around Michigan. Although the SUV's covering kept fine details under wraps, it was easy to see that the vehicle has undergone some changes.

Starting with the full-size SUV's exterior, it appears to have received a bigger chrome grille and a raised front fascia. The straight exhaust pipe on the rear end of the vehicle is new, as the current vehicle has a 90 degree angled pipe that releases on the passenger side.

The interior of the vehicle isn't expected to undergo a complete overhaul, however, there will be a few tweaks here and there. The center stack has been modernized, but with buttons and knobs instead of the touch-sensitive controls. Numerous Ford drivers expressed their preference for the buttons and knobs, so Ford took their opinions into account and reinstated them in the 2015 SUV. The steering wheel also looks to have received an update to accommodate the new interior design. We also spotted an engine stop-start system in this 2015 Ford Expedition prototype, so expect to see a hands-free keyless entry on the new model.

2015 Ford Expedition Spy Shots

As for what's going on under the hood, the 2015 Ford Expedition is expected to receive a 3.5-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 engine. This updated engine would increase the current 310HP to 365, as well as improve the current EPA ratings significantly.

These 2015 Ford Expedition spy shots have us excited for the SUV's debut! Until then, stop by and check out the current model on our lot. With the holiday season rapidly approaching, the space that the Expedition offers would be perfect for hauling gifts or riding with family. So come on by and we'll set you up with a test drive!

2015 Ford Mustang to Debut in December

2015 Ford Mustang to Debut in December
FLUSHING, Mich. - We recently reported that the 2015 Ford Mustang would be revealed at the 2014 New York Auto Show in April, as Ford would be celebrating the Mustang's 50th anniversary. Now however, Ford has announced that the 2015 Ford Mustang will debut in December - four months earlier than previously thought!

Whether or not this debut has anything to do with the fact that computer generated images (like the one above) of the 2015 pony car have surfaced, Ford has revealed that they will debut the Mustang to the public at the end of this year. A select group of journalists have already been chosen to view the new vehicle, however, all were asked to keep details of the Mustang quiet until the big reveal.

Few details have been released about the sixth-generation Mustang, so not much can be said about what to expect with updated car. However, we do know that the new Mustang will be smaller, lighter, and will get a brand new grill and headlights.  As for under the hood, the Mustang is believed to be getting a 3.0-liter V6 and 5.0-liter V8. A 2.3-liter EcoBoost I-4 will most likely be made available as well. Unfortunately, these are all guesses, as nothing has been confirmed by Ford.

Since the 2015 Ford Mustang will debut in December, we won't have to wait much longer for the actual specifics of the new pony car! Although the 2015 model won't be on dealer's lots until sometime next year, we do have a great selection of 2014 Ford Mustangs currently available for you to take for a spin! If you'd like to get behind the wheel of one of these great pony cars, stop by our dealership today. We'll gladly go over all the vehicle specifics with you, or set you up with a test drive.
