Ford is going to be the only manufacturer offering a light-duty snow plow prep option for customers. The snow plow prep can be activated with the push of a button, which temporarily shuts off unnecessary features to provide the right about of power for the plow. In order for the plow to work at maximum efficiency, the truck must be equipped with a 5.0-liter V8 engine and four-wheel drive. The maximum weight of the light-duty plow will be around 450 pounds.

With the truck being 700 pounds lighter, it has the perfect capability and handling for this plowing feature. After ordering the snow plow prep option, Ford owners will need to take their trucks to a Ford Qualified Vehicle Modifier to purchase and install the plow hardware. Pricing for the snow plow prep, excluding the plow itself, will be announced later this year. We will start to see the all-new 2015 F-150 in dealerships at the end of 2014.
