Recognizing Henry Ford's impact on the automotive industry, society, and our state, both the Michigan House and Senate adopted resolutions earlier this year to acknowledge him. So, the Michigan Legislature has declared his birthday, June 30th, Henry Ford Day in the state of Michigan.
“He is recognized for his pioneering spirit and innovation that put the world on wheels, and we honor his contribution to significant social and economic progress.”Over the weekend the resolutions were presented to Bill Ford and Edsel Ford II at a community celebration at the Henry Ford Estate. During the celebration, the Henry Ford Estate Inc. also announced the official transfer of the Estate from the University of Michigan to the newly formed entity which will restore and reimagine the estate to appeal to the next generation of those interested in the life and times of Henry Ford!
