Traditional Christmas Cookie Recipes

Sugar Cookies:
This ideal holiday cookie is fit for any occasion! Dress it up with some icing and sprinkles or leave it plain! Either way, it is a yummy traditional cookie that is super fun for kids to help with!

Cookie Ingredients:
1 cup(s) (2 sticks) butter (no substitutions), softened
1/2 cup(s) sugar
1 large egg
1 tablespoon(s) vanilla extract
3 cup(s) all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon(s) baking powder
1/2 teaspoon(s) salt

Easy Gingerbread Cookies:
A Christmas classic! These cookies are super simple to make and are another fun treat for the kids to help out with.

Ingredients:
3/4 c. butter softened
3/4 c. brown sugar packed
1 3.4 oz.pkg. butterscotch instant pudding
1 egg
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tblsp. ground ginger
1 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon

Shortbread Bites:
An old favorite made into a bite-size version. Make these shortbreads extra fun by adding different colored sprinkles to the mix.
Ingredients:
1 1/4 cup(s) all-purpose flour
3 tablespoon(s) sugar
1/2 cup(s) (1 stick) butter (no substitutions), cold, cut into pieces
1 tablespoon(s) red and green nonpareils or sprinkles or 1/2 cup mini baking bits

Old Fashioned Molasses Cookies:
Yum! The last, by not the least, is this chewy and delicious cookie! There is something extra special about this molasses cookie during the holiday season.
Ingredients:
3/4 cup margarine or butter
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup molasses
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon each cloves, salt, ginger
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
Granulated sugar for rolling the cookies
