The Women's World Car of the Year is chosen by a panel of 18 female automotive writers from around the world who judge the vehicle based on criteria that they deem important to women: safety, value-for-money, storage space, appearance, kid-friendly, ease-of-driving, sex appeal, color and environmental footprint. The 18 women awarded the best vehicle in eight different categories – including best vehicle overall. After considering all of the criteria, the Ford Fiesta was chosen as the best choice for all of these criteria, and was described as stylish, fuel-efficient, fun to drive, technologically advanced, good value, and a top safety pick!
While the Ford Fiesta won the Women’s World Car of the Year, the new Fiesta appeals to both male and female drivers with its updated bold exterior and an impressive, comfortable interior. Performance-wise, the 2014 Ford Fiesta is equipped with a 1.6L Ti-VCT I-4 engine, and features like electric power-assisted steering and AdvanceTrac electronic stability control. Not to mention, the vehicle earned Best-in-Class Fuel Economy, with an average of 41 mpg on the highway and 30 mpg in the city.
